Teaching English in Saudi Arabia

The demand for English teachers in Saudi Arabia is really high, as well as the salary, which ranges from $2,400- $3,400 USD a month depending on your qualification and experience. We have available positions in the following cities: Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Khobar, Qatif and Jezan. Teaching in this part of the world can be a very lucrative opportunity for licensed teachers and ESL instructors alike. Teaching jobs offer teachers the chance to live in one of the world’s richest countries. You will have the chance to learn more about Middle Eastern and Islamic traditions. Whether you go to a small desert town or a big city, it is an unforgettable cultural experience. The school year begins in late August and ends in late June. Accordingly, since Friday is the most religious day for Muslims, the weekend begins on Thursday. Teaching hours in differs from school to school, and you will be expected to contribute to school resources and curriculum development. Universities and colleges are equipped with the latest technology; hence, teachers integrate technology into the classroom. Women are not allowed to drive, ride a bike, or talk to men in public, and must take certain decisions through their “guardian.”

Traveling to Saudi Arabia

Living and teaching in Saudi Arabia means you will experience the traditions of the Middle East and Islamic Religion first hand, while earning an excellent salary and benefits. Whether teaching in a small town in the immense Sahara Desert or in a big noisy city, Saudi Arabia symbolizes cultural immersion and beautiful desert geography like nowhere else. Life can be restful if you are aware of daily customs and respect all laws; being respectful of customs and rules is expected at all times. Whether in a desert town gazing out at the Sahara, or teaching in a large city setting bustling with activity, Saudi Arabia offers cultural immersion opportunities and beautiful desert geography like nowhere else. Expatriate life in Saudi Arabia can be comfortable and routine if teachers are aware of daily customs and adhere to all rules and laws. Whether teachers are within a compound for foreigners or elsewhere in the country, being respectful of customs and rules is expected at all times. There are many shopping malls across the country. Usually, women teaching in Saudi Arabia will be living on designated female school compounds, and employers will coordinate group trips to buy items at different shopping malls. However, be aware that there are no change rooms, so trying clothing is not an option. Saudi Arabia is a family-oriented society with strict lawful and social restrictions. Because public exhibitions of film and theatre are banned, recreation tends to happen in a family setting. Everything is centered on faith, with prayer occurring five times a day.
