Requirements:
- Must have a TEFL Certificate from ITTO or a reputable school
- To have access to a computer with an internet connection. Minimal requirements: Internet
Explorer (IE) version 5.5+/FireFox 1+ (Windows 98+) or Netscape 7.2+/FireFox 1+ (MacOS X and Linux)
will allow you to take full advantage of the range of features of the site. If you are using an earlier

- To have knowledge in word processing, web navigation, sending e-mails and attachments.
- Be aged 20 or over. 18 and 19 year olds may be accepted at ITTO's discretion. We know of other
providers who accept applicants as young as sixteen. However, it is obvious that the possibility
of TEFL employment for those graduates is extremely unlikely.
- Have an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables the
trainee to undertake the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels.
- Have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become an effective teacher and to successfully
complete the written assignments.
- Have a positive attitude towards team work and experiential learning activities. This includes
acknowledging the relevance of these in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and having a willingness
to participate in all course dynamics.
- Have a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into university.
